A celebration in Paris!

The Olympics were a vibe that will be hard for LA or Brisbane to replicate

Dear reader,

I’m back from the Olympics, and the Olympics are over… and what even is my personality any more?! (I’m planning to watch the Paralympics when they begin on August 28th.)

I had such a blast going back to Paris, traveling with my sisters, and seeing such a remarkable event first-hand.

There was so much talk before the Olympics that all Parisians would bail on the city in order to avoid the crowds that were sure to descend on the Olympics. But the city was actually super festive and the atmosphere everywhere was so fun and positive. Here’s how Paris celebrated!

All of Paris was decked out for the Olympics.

We even found the Olympic rings!

On the night of the Opening Ceremony, we crowded outside a bar in the rain with what felt like everyone in the city in order to watch the ceremony on TV.

Marseille was less festive overall but still encapsulated the Olympics vibe at the beach.

Overall, I was surprised and impressed how France embraced the Olympics in spite of all the negative energy. We had a blast!
