A little bit about me:
Size: 2X/20
Height: 5’3”
I previously described my style as as “professional, but weird enough that people know I’m not boring.” I just started an in-office job a month ago, and I’m having fun exploring what my style looks like in that context!
Monday: It's so humid out you can smell it. I already planned to wear a top that touches my skin as little as possible, but couldn’t figure out what pants to combine it with until I was digging around in my closet in the morning and found these chambray pants. Definitely a better fit for this weather than jeans. I throw on these slip-on sneakers because they’re new-to-me and lightweight, but they turn out to be my least favorite part of this outfit. I think the outfit really needed either a bolder or darker shoe. This is also the most casual outfit I’ve ever worn to the office. However, it does the job for today.
Tuesday & Wednesday: I work from home both days, so, no outfit photos to share as I mostly stay in pajamas. I briefly leave the house on Tuesday wearing a vintage matching set, and then put on the same outfit Wednesday when I go to the nail salon. I only feel put together with my nails done, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring - I’m obsessed with my hot dog-inspired nails! My nail tech tells me the design is a lot. I tell her that I am a lot.
Thursday: This outfit has a lot going on and I love it. I had the idea to pair one of these Paz button downs with shorts for a while. At first, I’m not sure if the asymmetric buttons on the shorts with the straight buttons on the top clash or make this outfit even more interesting. I decide interesting. To keep the outfit leaning professional, I add these shimmery black flats. But it’s Big Brother premiere day, so my earrings are Lay’s potato chips (iykyk).
Friday: I’ve been meaning to wear this dress for a while, but have been feeling uninspired - it’s a solid-colored midi dress, after all - nothing that exciting. (I mainly picked it up because I love the brand.) Since I’ve been trying to revive my old accessories, as well, I dig through my hair accessories box and find an old headband that matches the dress; it also has gold accents. I add gold flake earrings and my gold Birks to tie everything together and establish an accent color for the outfit. I’m also going out with friends after work, and this outfit transitions seamlessly from work to the bar - I get quite a few compliments!
How are you adjusting your wardrobe with the heat and humidity we’ve been having on the east coast?
